* Please note: It is not the purpose of this site to serve as a publishing venue for "letters to the editor." Rather, the intent is to gather information and ideas from your letters so that they can be added to the "pros and cons" treatment of key issues and to other sections of this site. Also welcomed are your suggestions regarding the selection of issues on which to focus reader attention. The creators of this site do not endorse or take responsibility for the ideas presented here, but merely make them available for public consumption. It is hoped that this site will stimulate discussion of critical issues that face the L/A area and will lead to specific citizen actions that have an impact on local, state, and federal governmentdecisions. It is also hoped that this site will contribute to a greater understanding of the weaknesses and, more importantly, the strengths of this part of Maine.
